Autumn Newsletter

Our New Committee has met twice since our AGM. We now have seven people on our Committee, Bruce Saussy has filled one of our vacancies, so still one available and we are on the lookout for a capable and enthusiastic person to take on that position.

Big thankyou to Dianne & Ken Gullery, Jack Dykstra, Chris Davies and Don McDonald for a great effort on our Little Theatre working bee in early April. The following was achieved, along with fresh scones, cream and jam supplied by Don 🙂

  • The Stage and stage front got a black paintover.
  • The Foyer and Kitchen vinyl received two coats of a long awaited sealer.
  • And backstage got a good tidy up and some lock-up storage set up.

Our application to Creative Communities for a grant to assist with a Director’s Workshop and a Children’s Drama Workshop was successful and on Anzac weekend Pam Logan conducted a really interesting, informative and enjoyable two days.

From Blenheim, Shalom Del’Monte-Aberhart and from Picton, Ingrid Hillgrove, Margaret Bremner, Chris Davies, Nozz Fletcher and Don McDonald attended and came away with lots of information and practical guidelines and a wealth of experience from

Pam,who managed to impart this in an inclusive and fun way.

Our appreciation to Pam Bailey, Joyce McLelland, Alison Fletcher and Don McDonald for organising and providing yummy lunch each day.

Coming up will be the Children’s Drama Workshops to be run by Sheira Hudson, with help from Ingrid Hillgrove. Watch out for the dates which will run for 2 hours on a weekend for 6 weeks.

Things are progressing quietly, some membership subs are still outstanding and a gentle reminder has been sent out.

We are in the process of contacting our Business Sponsors to maintain the support we have received over the last three years.

Don, our President is flying out with wife Val on 7th May for a three month long cycle tour of the UK, Bon Voyage to Don and Val. If interested you can follow their adventures on their blog.
